The Georgia Tech Data Science Student Challenge is part of a global series of Hackathons. These events are designed to ignite a passion for the amazing things made possible by Data Science and to help students develop the skills necessary to harness the power of analytics.

A variety of learning resources will be made available and the hackathon will suit students with a background in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Analytics and Math. This event is open to Georgia Tech students only who will work in team of 3-4 throughout the hackathon.

With a prize pool of $9,000 in cash and goodies for all participants, and a chance for the winning team to get free passes to attend Microsoft’s 2-day Data Science Summit being held in Atlanta, it’s a great opportunity to build your skills, experience teamwork, have fun and win great prizes. The hackathon is open to every student, regardless of is your current skill. Prizes will reward data science performances, but also creativity, good attitude and team spirit.

The Georgia Tech Data Science Student Challenge is a collaboration between Georgia Tech’s Business Analytics Center at the Scheller School of Business, the Master of Science in Analytics Program, Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, School of Interactive Computing, and Microsoft.

Pre-Hack Education

To make sure students get the most out of the hackathon, Georgia Tech and Microsoft will be holding a fun preparation session in the lead-up to the hackathon.
